Many water-based lube contain amongst other ingredients, glyerine (also known as glycerin and glycerol). It is a sugar alcohol, that many men and women are allergic to. So try a silicone-based lube. There are many on the market, they are all basically the same. I always buy the cheapest one. If your not engaging in anal sex you could also try the best oil-based lubricant, vaseline.
